Qaidah (Foundation Reading)

Beginner

The Qaidah is where every student begins their Quran journey. Using a gradual, logical progression, students learn to recognise and pronounce Arabic letters correctly before moving on to joining letters and reading words.

What students will learn:

  • Arabic alphabet recognition and pronunciation
  • Connecting letters to form words
  • Short and long vowels (Harakaat)
  • Sukoon, Shaddah, and Tanween rules
  • Introduction to basic Tajweed
  • Fluent reading of short Quranic passages
Ideal for children aged 4+ and adult beginners who have never read Arabic before.
02

Quran Recitation

Beginner to Advanced

Once a student completes the Qaidah, they progress to reading the Quran directly. Our tutors focus on building fluency, accuracy, and confidence in recitation with proper application of Tajweed rules.

What students will learn:

  • Fluent recitation of the Quran from Surah Al-Fatiha to Surah An-Nas
  • Correct pronunciation of Arabic letters (Makharij)
  • Application of Tajweed rules during recitation
  • Understanding of stops, pauses, and breath marks
  • Confidence to recite independently and in Salah

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The one who is skilled in reciting the Quran will be with the noble and honourable scribes (angels), and the one who recites the Quran and finds it difficult, will have a double reward."

— Sahih al-Bukhari & Muslim
03

Tajweed

What students will learn:

  • Makharij al-Huroof — the articulation points of every Arabic letter
  • Sifaat al-Huroof — the characteristics and qualities of letters
  • Rules of Noon Saakin and Tanween (Izhaar, Idghaam, Iqlaab, Ikhfaa)
  • Rules of Meem Saakin
  • Madd (elongation) rules — natural, connected, and obligatory
  • Qalqalah, Ghunnah, and Laam rules
  • Waqf (stopping) and Ibtidaa (starting) rules
04

Hifz (Quran Memorisation)

All Levels

For students who wish to memorise the Quran, our Hifz programme provides a structured approach with daily new memorisation, revision, and assessment. Tutors work one-to-one to set realistic targets and track progress.

Programme structure:

  • New lesson (Sabaq) — daily portion of new memorisation
  • Recent revision (Sabqi) — reviewing the last 7 days of memorisation
  • Long-term revision (Manzil) — rotating through all previously memorised portions
  • Regular assessments to check retention and accuracy
  • Personalised targets based on the student's pace and ability
05
